The rally was organised on 5th July 2023 by the Lamka Resurgent Squad, a youth organisation and The rally was to “protest against the fascist rule” of the Manipur government.
At least 3 thousand people attended. Most participants dressed in black. Many wore camouflage uniforms.Singers from different tribes wooed the cheering crowd.
A minute’s silence was observed to mourn the death of David Thiek, a 31-year of tribal who was behaded by Meitei radicals at Langza village on July 2, 2023
